EXSTA – External Start
This command enables/disables the external start functionality. This is applicable to all move commands.
Applies to: CMD-2CR, CMD-4CR, CMD-4EX-SA, CMD-8CR

Syntax:

EXSTA
Write:
EXSTA=[value]
Where: [value] is set to: 0: External start disabled, or 1: External start enabled |
Reply:
Command is accepted and executed
Read:
Returns enable/disable status, 0 = disabled, 1= enabled.
Write:
OK
Command cannot be processed
An error message is returned. See Error Codes

EXSTA * Returns the external start status
Write:
EXSTA=0 * Disables the external start function
Notes:
- When set to 1 (enabled) /CSTA must be set to 0 (low) to start motion for any axis on the Commander.
- When set to 0 (disabled) motion will start immediately. The default setting is 0 (disabled).
- Before Version 301 the ASCII command for external start was EXST. V301 and newer versions added the EXSTP (external stop) command and changed EXST (external start) to EXSTA.
