The MPG input and its corresponding pulse output can be used to multiply or divide an encoder or impulse input. This will require the use of a single axis, the encoder or impulse input is connected to the MPG input, and the processed signal is output on the pulse and direction outputs. This is done by following the steps below:

1) Set POL[axis](Bit14~16) to match your encoder or impulse input.  See 2.5.2.1 MPG signal input mode.

2) Set MPM[axis] and MPD[axis] (electronic gearing) to achieve the appropriate multiple or derivative of the input signal that is required. See 2.5.2.2 Electronic gearing the MPG signal.

3) Set POL[axis](Bit0~2) to match your required encoder or impulse output format. See 2.1.6.3 Input modes and the polarity of the input/output logic.
