2.5.2.3 Encoder Frequency and Impulse Multiplier/Divider
Encoder Frequency and Impulse Multiplier/Divider
The MPG input and its corresponding pulse output can be used to multiply or divide an encoder or impulse input. This requires the use of a single axis, the encoder or impulse input is connected to the MPG input, and the processed signal is output on the pulse and direction outputs.
Follow these steps below:
- Set POL[axis](Bit14~16) to match your encoder or impulse input.
See 2.5.2.1 MPG signal input mode. - Set MPM[axis] and MPD[axis] (electronic gearing) to achieve the appropriate multiple or derivative of the input signal that is required.
See 2.5.2.2 Electronic gearing the MPG signal. - Set POL[axis](Bit0~2) to match your required encoder or impulse output format.
See 2.1.6.3 Input modes and the polarity of the input/output logic.
