Control and programming
Motion is commanded either from a host over USB or RS-485, or by a standalone program held in the on-board serial flash. Standalone programs run with no host attached, which is the normal mode for machine control; the host interfaces remain available while a program runs, for monitoring and for changing variables.
Programs are written and downloaded with NPBuilder, and the unit can be exercised interactively with NPTerminal and the Commander Control Utility. All three are available from support.nipponpulse.com. All configuration — input polarity, output power-on states, homing mode, motion parameters — is done in software; there are no jumpers or switches on the board.
