Active level (normally open or normally closed) for the limit and home inputs is set by command. A limit stops motion in its direction (immediately or with deceleration, as configured); motion away from the limit is still allowed. A latch input captures the axis position; its latency includes the optocoupler response (tens to hundreds of µs)†.
